I enjoyed that.
Stopped collecting stickers in the early nineties so didn't realise that Merlin had taken over from Panini as the main football sticker seller.

I was way too poor to get anywhere close to completing these.
Italia 90 I completed England and Scotland that was it, remember needing mark wright and Alex McLeosh iirc to complete, what's great feeling that was

I remember having loads of doubles and we used to play this game where you'd flick them against a wall and, as soon as one touched another, that person kept the lot. I lost about 200 stickers in a matter of minutes. That moment destroyed me at the tender age of 12.
Plus I once got Malcolm Shotton of Oxford three times in one packet. What a pisstake!

The chap that wrote the book and upcoming TV show is Greg Lansdowne. Son of Billy, grandson of Bill. I went to school with him (Ilford County High). Absolute bell end back then. Hateful little snide who supported Arsenal to piss off his family. Very few people at school I disliked more than him.
He might be a lovely bloke now for all I know. This was thirty years ago after all.

Went to the Sticker Album museum in Modena, museo della figurina. Very nice.
My "kid" collects these now. He can't see through the back of the packets to check the number to see whether he's got them or not when buying them. Very disappointing.

yes, england and scotland squads i think....esso also did a set of coins , one for each club that won the FA cup - and a big gold coin for dirty Leeds
not worth much as nobody threw them away

Swindon... oh yeah I forgot about the 90 Ring Binder... good shout... anyone remember the petrol station coins you got... think it was Esso... deffo done one on the 90 World cup IIRC??

I remember Italia 90 was the one where they brought out the ring binder/folder instead of just a sticker book.
It was considered a big deal back then!
First Panini album I collected was the 85/86 one. The only 2 stickers I had missing from the West Ham team were Frank McAvennie and the shiny club crest badge. I then got them both on the same day!
Great days and looking forward to watching this.
